What do we do?
Each experience is designed to reconnect with nature and make new friends. Here's what we'll do in this one:
-
Guided Trekking
For three days we will walk immersed in the wilderness of the Friulian Dolomites, guided by an expert connoisseur of the territory. We will cross the valleys suspended between the Pramaggiore, Monfalconi, Spalti di Toro and Cridola groups, along vertiginous passes and solitary paths that wind through pines and scree. Every step will be a story of these rugged and majestic mountains, every panorama an invitation to slow down and breathe deeply. We will experience the mountains with authenticity, far from the crowd, sharing hardships, smiles and wonder.
-
2 nights in a refuge with half board
After intense days of walking, the genuine atmospheres of the Pordenone and Padova refuges will welcome us. Here, between the scent of wood and the warmth of a simple meal but rich in authentic flavors, we will find the energy to start again. We will dine with traditional dishes prepared with local ingredients, surrounded by the silence of the valleys and breathtaking starry skies. We will sleep in basic but comfortable beds, lulled by the rustle of the wind and the singing of birds at dawn.
-
Masterclass discovering Nature
During the trek, we will live an educational experience that will teach us to read the mountain with new eyes. With the support of the Medium Mountain Guide, we will learn to recognize the delicate alpine flowers, the tracks left by wild animals and the infinite nuances of the Dolomite landscape. We will discover how to best organize our backpack, read the weather and move safely, minimizing our impact on the environment. An invitation to listen to nature with all the senses and to cherish every emotion experienced along the way.

Day 1
From Rifugio Giaf to Rifugio Pordenone: between secret passes and valleys
+ 980m | - 750m | 5h30 | 10km
We will start from the Rifugio Giaf and walk along a stepped path that, between centuries-old larches and large scree slopes, will lead us through the majestic scree below the Forcella dei Pecoli. We will skirt the imposing Cima Urtisiel, entering a suggestive gravel gorge that we will patiently climb, until we reach the panoramic Forcella Urtisiel: from here the world will seem to open up before our eyes.
We will begin the descent through gravel and silence, and along the famous Truoi dai Sclops, we will walk on an airy and panoramic traverse to the quiet Ricovero Casera Valbinon. From here, a gentle mule track will take us into the green Val Menon, between solitary pastures and the ancient traces of old dairy farms.
We will continue along the Val Meluzzo for about 3 km, immersed in fragrant woods and bright clearings, until we reach the hill that guards the Rifugio Pordenone. We will thus conclude a splendid day of crossing among the most authentic Dolomites.
We will stop for a packed lunch along the way. In the evening we will share dinner and overnight at the refuge.
Day 2
From the Pordenone Refuge to the Padova Refuge: under the cry of stone
+ 1060m | - 1000m | 5h30 | 7.5 km
After breakfast, with our packed lunches in our backpacks, we will set off again towards the second stage of our trek. From the Rifugio Pordenone we will follow the path that runs along the imposing walls of the Campanile del Rifugio and the Anticima Meluzzo, entering the wild Val Montanaia.
It will be a steep climb through scree and changes in slope, which will take us to the iconic Campanile di Val Montanaia, an absolute symbol of the Friulian Dolomites, where silence mixes with a sense of wonder. We will reach the Bivacco Perugini, immersed in a grandiose setting, and continue to the Forcella Montanaia, a pass suspended between sky and rock.
From here we will descend through scree towards the Cadin d'Arade, and then, in an increasingly gentle and wooded environment, we will reach the Rifugio Padova, where a regenerating dinner and the warmth of a mountain welcome await us.
Day 3
Return to the Giaf Refuge: the last thrill among the peaks
+ 760m | - 630m | 4h00 | 6.5 km
After breakfast, we will prepare to face the last day of this adventure. From Rifugio Padova we will enter the green Val Pra di Toro, cross the stream and climb among pines and scree, surrounded by the cliffs of Cridola and the jagged walls of Monfalconi di Forni.
With a steady pace we will reach the Forcella Scodavacca, a panoramic pass nestled between high rocky walls. Once past the pass, the grandiose landscapes dominated by the Torre Spinotti and the Torre Antonio Berti will welcome us, while we will begin the return into the woods.
We will follow the edge of the Giaf stream, first along a comfortable forest road, then on a more intimate path, until we reach the Giaf refuge again. Here, among smiles and glances that already know of nostalgia, we will conclude our adventure with a convivial lunch, exchanging last greetings and keeping in our hearts the authentic beauty of the Friulian Dolomites.
