Day 1
Among the enchanting landscapes of Sauris and Val Pesarina
13.6 Km | 1080m d+ | 6-7 h
Our journey begins with the meeting in Tolmezzo and the transfer to Sauris, crossing the suggestive Lumiei valley. From Sauris di Sopra, we walk through woods and high-altitude meadows until we reach the spectacular Festons saddle. Here, the view opens onto the Friulian Dolomites, giving us a first taste of the beauty that will accompany us for two days. The panoramic path of Monte Festons leads us on a magnificent traverse to the Rioda fork, where we leave the view of Sauris to enter the Pesarina Valley, the "valley of time", home of the watchmaking tradition. The descent through the Casera Rioda mountain pasture takes us to the Pesarina stream, and then gently climbs towards the solitary Casera Mimoias. The silence and quiet of these places envelop us before the last climb towards the De Gasperi refuge, which welcomes us among rocks and woods with its warm atmosphere. A sunset over the surrounding peaks, a shared dinner and the deep sense of freedom of the mountain will make this evening unforgettable.
Day 2
Between wild crests and the charm of Sappada
10 Km | 360m d+ | 5 h
After a hearty breakfast, we resume our journey with a light pace, leaving the refuge behind us to climb towards the slopes of the Creste Brusade. The route, always spectacular, takes us under the imposing Campanile di Mimoias and towards the Creta of the same name, a rock colossus that dominates the horizon. The highest point of the day is the Passo Elbel, at 1963 meters, a true natural window between the Val Pesarina and the Sappada basin. From here, the panorama opens up to the border ridges, giving us one of the most exciting views of the entire trek. We then begin the descent along the Rio Enghe valley, between rocky walls and spectacular waterfalls, until we reach Sappada, an Alpine jewel with its typical wooden houses and its unique history. Here we conclude our adventure, taking with us the memory of two days immersed in the authentic beauty of the Friulian mountains. The return to Tolmezzo by bus marks the end of an intense experience, made up of extraordinary landscapes, shared effort and moments of pure wonder.

Meet the Team ✌🏼
Hi, I'm Omar, the mountain is my home ⛰️
As a child I explored the alpine meadows, growing up I challenged rocks and glaciers. Mountaineer, rescuer and manager of the Rifugio F.lli De Gasperi. Now, as a Medium Mountain Guide, I continue to live the Dolomites with passion.
I have walked many mountains, from Friuli to all of Europe, but the path that makes me happiest is the one I share with others every day.
Come share them with me!
