What do we do?
Each experience is designed to reconnect with nature and make new friends. Here's what we'll do in this one:
-
3 days trekking in the Dolomites: self-guided experience
We will live three days of walking in the heart of the Dolomites, along panoramic paths and landscapes that change with every step. We will live the adventure independently, following a route traced between peaks, pastures and silent woods. We will immerse ourselves in the most authentic nature, slowing down the pace to listen to the wind, watch the clouds move between the peaks and rediscover the pleasure of a journey that speaks to the heart and the breath.
-
2 nights in the Dolomites: discover the local mountain huts and refuges
During our trek, we will be welcomed by refuges and mountain huts where time seems to have stopped. We will sleep in authentic, simple and warm places, where the scent of wood and the taste of genuine cuisine will make us feel at home. Nights at high altitude will give us starry skies and deep silence, while the day will begin with hearty breakfasts and panoramas that open up as soon as you cross the threshold. An immersion in the true culture of the mountain.

MADE Trek: Malga and Alm Desired Experience - Montasio Ring and Gilberti Refuge
We will tackle the Anello del Montasio, a circular route that will lead us to the discovery of spectacular landscapes and high-altitude mountain huts. We will climb towards the Rifugio Gilberti, nestled in one of the most suggestive corners of the Julian Alps, and we will cross mountain pastures where the renowned Montasio cheese is still produced. We will walk among scree, rocky balconies and fragrant pastures, listening to the authentic sounds of Alpine nature. It will be an experience that combines taste, adventure and tradition, in a landscape that excites at every glance.
Discover the program.
Day 1
Between pastures and mountain huts up to the Montasio plateau
We will start from Sella Nevea, near the Guardia di Finanza barracks (altitude 1,171 m), and take the CAI 626 path, which crosses the old ski slope and cuts across the bends in the road to take us directly to the open pastures of Casera Cregnedul di sopra.
Following the CAI 624 road, we will walk at altitude until we reach Casera Larice and Casera Parte di Mezzo (1,556 m), where the landscape opens onto the Montasio expanses. At the crossroads for Rifugio Brazzà, we can make a short detour (15 minutes) or continue straight towards Agriturismo Malga Montasio (1,517 m), where we will stop for a regenerating break.
We will return to Sella Nevea along the asphalt road, up to the last bend, from which a track will easily take us back to the starting point (about 1h 15'). For the night, we will be guests of the Rifugio Divisione Julia, in double or multiple rooms, based on availability.
Day 2
Towards high altitude: climb to the Gilberti Refuge among larches, mountain pines and Dolomite walls
After breakfast, we will begin the climb to the Gilberti-Soravito Refuge (1,850 m), with an 11 km hike and 867 m of elevation gain. Those who prefer to save energy can use the Canin cable car from July to September.
On foot, we will briefly descend along the road to a large curve, where we will take a dirt road that will take us to the cable car square. From here, the CAI 635 trail will begin, which climbs with hairpin bends and steps through mixed forests, larches and mountain pines, offering enchanting views.
We will pass by the suggestive Grotta delle Gocce (formerly the Di Brazzà refuge) and, once past the final “tooth”, we will enter a splendid karst basin surrounded by imposing walls. In a short time, we will reach the Rifugio Gilberti, where we will spend the night immersed in the quiet of the high altitude.
Day 3
Return to the valley with the cable car
After a breakfast with a view of the Julische Alpen, we will comfortably descend to the valley with the Canin cable car. From here, we will conclude our circular adventure in the heart of the Natural Park of the Julian Prealps, taking with us the open gaze of the mountain and the discreet beauty of its less beaten paths.
