What is done?

Each experience is designed to reconnect with nature and make new friends. Here's what we'll do in this one:

  • Self-guided or guided trekking in the Friulian Dolomites ring

We will walk for days on one of the most authentic and spectacular routes in the Alps: the Friulian Dolomites ring. We can choose to follow an expert guide or tackle the trek independently, with well-marked and detailed tracks. We will cross thick woods, wild screes, exposed passes and silent valleys, experiencing each stage as a journey into the mountain and into ourselves. An experience that will make us listen to our breathing, the rhythm of our steps and the pure sounds of nature.

  • 4 nights in a refuge with half board and 2 nights in a hotel with breakfast

We will alternate the rustic welcome of the Alpine refuges with the comfort of the hotels in the valley. In the refuges, hot dinners shared with other hikers, fiery dawns on the ridges and simple but welcoming beds await us. The hotels, before departure and at the end of the trek, will offer us a moment of rest and refreshment in well-kept and familiar environments. We will sleep where the mountains tell stories, we will wake up with the scent of bread and wood, ready to set off again every day with renewed energy.

  • Discover the wilderness of the Friulian Dolomites

We will explore the most secret soul of the Dolomites: the Friulane, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but still far from the tourist flows. Along this iconic itinerary we will cross wild and little-visited territories, where silence reigns and nature is free to be itself. We will walk among jagged spires, high-altitude meadows and deep valleys, observing the alpine fauna in its natural habitat. It will be a journey of total immersion, where every detail - a rare flower, the flight of a bird of prey, the scent of resin - will teach us to slow down and listen.

Discover the program.

Arrival in the Piave Valley

We will reach the Piave Valley and check in at one of the base hotels selected to welcome us with simplicity and warmth. We will immediately be immersed in authentic mountain landscapes, where tourists are few and nature reigns supreme. The atmosphere will be that of the past: silent, true, deeply alpine. We will take the time to settle in, prepare ourselves and let ourselves be inspired by what awaits us.

Climb to the Plateau: lights and wood under the Toro Stands

+ 1450m | - 880m | 8h00 | 15km

We will begin our trek by slowly climbing the woods of the valley until we reach a plateau of extraordinary beauty, near Mount Vedorcia. Two panoramic points, a short distance from each other, will give us unique views of the mountain groups of Antelao, Pelmo and Civetta.

Sunset and sunrise here will be moments to cherish: the evening will paint the Spalti di Toro chain orange, while the morning will surprise us with the gold of the first lights. We will sleep in an intimate refuge, entirely made of wood, where there will be only 16 of us: we will dine in the stube in front of the fire, with dishes cooked in the wood oven, and we will begin to feel the true spirit of this journey.

Monfalcon Pass of Forni: between towers and passes

+ 1100m | - 970m | 6h00 | 10km

From today the trekking will become more intense. We will climb towards one of the great passes of the Friulian Dolomites, the Passo Monfalcon di Forni, overcoming steep slopes and shifting screes, framed by the Torre di Busas, sharp as a stone fang.

We will cross the ridge that separates the Spalti di Toro group from the Cridola, immersed in a powerful and wild silence. From above, the pristine valleys will open up beneath our feet, giving that rare sensation of being truly far from any trace of civilization.

Gentian Trail: Balcony on the Friulian Dolomites

+ 1210m | - 1030m | 6h00 | 9km

Today we will walk along the Sentiero della Genziana, one of the most evocative stretches of the entire route. We will follow a path carved between mountain pines and larches, overlooking the Val Meluzzo and the peaks of the central Friulian Dolomites.

We will stop at the idyllic Canpuros meadow, a perfect spot for a break, nestled in a natural amphitheater. In front of us will open the jagged wall of Cridola, with its white-striped debris slides. The descent, gentler than the previous days, will lead us towards the refuge immersed in a landscape that seems painted.

Monte Pramaggiore: wild peaks and ibex

+ 970m | - 1310m | 6h00 | 10km

Today we will touch one of the symbolic places of our journey: Monte Pramaggiore. We will have a good chance of spotting ibex a few meters away, silent sentinels of these lands. We will tackle three Alpine passes, along paths that overlook vertical walls and endless crests.

Most of the day will be spent at high altitude, immersed in landscapes that convey the essence of the Dolomite wilderness. The descent will take us to the remote Val Meluzzo, where the most isolated and suggestive refuge of the entire trek awaits us.

Bell Tower of Val Montanaia: the heart of the Friulian Dolomites

+ 1080m | - 16500m | 7h00 | 13km

It will be the most intense and scenic day. We will be enchanted by the Campanile di Val Montanaia, an absolute symbol of the Friulian Dolomites, a 170-meter tower that rises alone in the heart of the valley.

After admiring it, we will climb towards the pass between scree and outcropping rocks. The long descent will test us, but once in the woods a regenerating lunch awaits us in the refuge. From there we will continue on gentler paths until we return to our base hotel, closing the loop with a lighter backpack and a fuller heart.

Departure from the Piave Valley

We will say goodbye among the last rays of sun and the glances that linger on the peaks. We will have explored a hidden world, the most pristine area of the Dolomites, where time expands and beauty shows itself without filters. No other trek will be able to take us so far, so inside.
